The Dahlia:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Originates from Mexico. There Francisco Hern\u00e1ndez wrote the earliest description known about a \u2018water pipe flower\u2019 that was used by the Aztecs.<\/li>\n<li>First name was Acocotili and Cocoxochitl. However, today we know the flower as Dahlia, named after Anders Dahl, a Swedish botanist.<\/li>\n<li>Symbolizes dignity and elegance. As well as, it is the symbol of commitment and a bond that lasts forever. Use a suitable clean vase and fill it with tap water.<\/li>\n<li>Add some Chrysal cut flower food, to ensure a longer vase life.<\/li>\n<li>After transportation, flowers need to consume a lot of water. Make sure to cut the Dahlias diagonally by 3 to 5 cm with a sharp knife. By cutting the stem diagonally the drinking surface becomes larger.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the unnecessary leaves; make sure there are no leaves hanging in the water.<\/li>\n<li>Especially during Summer it is important to keep the Dahlias out of the full sun and draught. Just like many other flowers, they don\u2019t like the heat too much.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure to refresh the water regularly, because Dahlias are thirsty.<\/li>\n<li>Last but not least, don\u2019t place the flowers near fruits.
